On each road located in the Pataskala, there is a section on both sides that is owned by the City. This section is called the right-of-way and can include the berms, shoulder, and ditches located parallel to roads. The right-of-way is measured from the center of the road. For example, if the right-of-way for a given street is 60', then the right of way could be measured 30' feet from the center line to either side of the street.
The City has authority to regulate the activities that take place within the rights-of-way. If you plan to do any work that will be located within a right-of-way, you are required to submit and receive approval of a right-of-way work permit. Please refer to the right-of-way permit application below to review the submittal requirements. No work can commence within City owned right-of-way prior to receiving an approved permit.
