The mission of Parks and Recreation is to maintain the lands within the parks in order for all members of the community to enjoy the natural beauty each park provides.
The Pataskala Park Advisory Board strives to improve the parks through careful planning and coordination with other City departments, volunteers and other community organizations in an effort to maintain and continually improve our grounds and park amenities. The City of Pataskala uses Recreational Use Agreements for local nonprofit recreational users to provide recreational programs. In turn, the users maintain the recreational facilities and fields and provide porta johns.
The City of Pataskala owns six parks located throughout the City. Each park offers different amenities. The Parks are classified on the basis of size, facilities, and service area. Neighborhood parks, such as Liberty, Freedom, and Citizens Parks, range between five to 20-acres in size, and are planned to provide service for one-quarter mile to one-half mile radius. Neighborhood parks typically include amenities such as playground equipment and picnic areas.
District parks, such as Foundation Park, are usually between 20 to 100 acres, and are constructed to provide service to one-half mile to three mile radius area. The larger district parks include amenities such as playground equipment, picnic areas, and sports fields.
