The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the park system in the City of Pataskala. The Parks Department's mission is to maintain the lands within the parks in order for all members of the community to enjoy the natural beauty each park provides. Additionally, the Parks Department strives to improve the parks through careful planning and coordination with other City departments, as well as with other community organizations in an effort to continually improve the exisitng park programs.
The City of Pataskala owns and maintains six parks located throughout the City. Each park offers different amenities. The Parks are classified on the basis of size, facilities, and service area. Neighborhood parks, such as Liberty, Freedom, and Citizens Parks, range between five to 20-acres in size, and are planned to provide service for one-quarter mile to one-half mile radius. Neighborhood parks typically include amentities such as playground equipment and picnic areas.
District park, such as Foundation Park, are usually between 20 to 100 acres, and are constructed to provide service to one-half mile to three mile radius area. The larger district parks include amentities such as playground equipment, picnic areas, and sports fields.
