If you would like to have a garage sale within the City's municipal boundaries, you are required, per the City's Codified Ordinance Chapter 717, to get a
"Garage Sale Permit." Permits can be obtained at the link on this page or at Suite 2A on the second floor of the City's Municipal Building located at 621 West Broad Street from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The requirements, per Ordinance Chapter 7171, for obtaining an approved Garage Sale Permit are:
- No person shall receive, or make application for any permit premises , of more than two permits, issued in accordance with Section 717.02 in any one calendar year.
- No garage sale, as defined in Codified Ordinance Chapter 717.01, shall continue for more than three consecutive days or more than 72 consecutive hours.
- All advertising signs shall be limited as follows:
- One sign within the permitted premises
- Two signs erected other than on permit premises, none of which shall be more than twelve hours prior to the commencement of the sale; and all signs to be removed within twelve hours after the closing of the sale.
NO SIGNS MAY BE ERECTED WITHIN THE CITY OWNED RIGHT-OF-WAY OR ON ANY UTILITY POLES.
